UWPIAA Legacy Scholarship
The UWPIAA supports the participation of relatives of alumni in the Up with People program by awarding scholarship money towards the first semester tuition for a legacy student. A legacy student is defined as someone who is a brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister, brother-in-law or sister-in-law, daughter, son, step-brother or step-son, cousin, niece or nephew, granddaughter, grandson, step-granddaughter or step-grandson of an alumnus/a!
An “alumnus/a” is defined as an individual who was accepted into the Up with People or World Smart program and who completed orientation, who has traveled as cast or served as staff member of Up with People or World Smart, who was in any national traveling cast of Sing Out, or who was on the staff of PACE magazine.
The funds for the Legacy Scholarship are generated through the efforts of the UWPIAA Development Committee and come primarily from the funds raised at the silent auction each year at reunion.
Applications are currently being accepted for students who will travel as first semester students in Cast B 2017. The applications are due no later than May 15, 2017.
