Shannon Airport is the closest to the University of Limerick — only a 30-minute taxi drive away.
Dublin Airport is just over a two-hour bus trip from campus.
In keeping with our sustainability efforts, we encourage you to use public transportation for Annual Alumni Week and not rent a car. It’s quite easy to get to and around Limerick using public transport!

Taxis
Local taxi service Ger & Rose offer a personal service. Please book NO later than a week in advance. Include your flight number, time, date, number of people in your group, and a phone number including country code.

- They can accommodate small groups of up to 8 passengers, as he has a car or van option.
- Car pickup at Shannon for up to 4 people: €70
- Van pickup at Shannon for up to 8 people: €85
- Payment in cash or by Revolut.
There is also an Airport Taxi Desk in the arrivals hall if you have not booked transportation in advance.
Buses
Bus Éireann operates a bus from Shannon Airport to William Street in the city centre every 30 minutes. Tickets cost €7 – €11 and the trip takes 44 min. Check the bus timetable here. To continue to the university, transfer to the 304-route bus; a 20 min trip from the city centre. If you will be using public transportation before or after the event as well, consider purchasing a Leap Card which will give you reduced rates for travel all over the country.

Buses
There are three options for buses from Dublin Airport to the University of Limerick.
- UWPIAA bus option — please read the following carefully to see if this will fit your plans and check the cancellation/refund policy here.
- FROM Dublin Airport TO University of Limerick on Sunday, July 19: €30
16:30 load time, 16:45 departure time from Dublin Airport (in the coach park behind the church opposite Terminal 1 — 5-minute walk from Terminal 1). This bus will not wait for late or delayed arrivals. - FROM Limerick TO Dublin City LUAS (train) stop (€25) and Dublin Airport (€30) on Sunday, July 26
8:30 load time, 8:45 departure time from the UWPIAA bus stop at the university. Bus arrives LUAS stop 10:45. Bus arrives Dublin Airport 11:30. - This option can be added to your AAW registration in the “ticket” section.
- FROM Dublin Airport TO University of Limerick on Sunday, July 19: €30
- JJ Kavanagh coach brings you right on campus to the “UL Campus Stables” stop. Book JJ Kavanagh here.
- Dublin Coach (also known as The Big Green Bus) brings you right on campus to The Stables as well, but they call it the “University of Limerick” stop. Book The Big Green Bus here.
- Both of the above bus options depart from the Coach Park Zone 16:
- From Terminal 1, exit the Arrivals Hall, cross the pedestrian crossing and enter the multi-storey car park on the opposite side. Walk straight through the building and exit on the other side. Look for the sign saying ‘Coach Park’ and proceed straight across this open area. Turn left at the footpath. The Coach Park is located around the corner to the right, behind the Chapel.
- From Terminal 2, make your way to Terminal 1 and follow the instructions above.
