Sharing Confidence Strategies for Women in Leadership

By: UWPIAA

Ready to turn self-doubt into self-confidence?

Join your fellow UWP alumnae for “Sharing Confidence Strategies for Women in Leadership,” a virtual event featuring communication expert and “Confidence Cultivator,” Karen Laos (‘90D). Drawing from her 25 years of experience advising C-suite leaders at companies like Google and NASA, Karen will share her tips to help you communicate with influence and impact.

This isn’t your typical lecture—it’s an engaging, after-work networking style virtual event. The first 20 minutes will be dedicated to actionable strategies from Karen, followed by an open discussion where you can share your own struggles and successes with other women in a supportive, collaborative environment. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, learn, and grow your confidence.

Key Statistics

  • Board Seats: Women held just under 30% of board seats in the largest publicly listed companies in 46 major economies in 2022.
  • Corporate Leadership: A 2022 study showed that 60% of managers and 74% of C-suite executives were men.
  • Government/Politics: While women’s representation in national parliaments is increasing, progress remains slow.
  • Mentorship: Women leaders are less likely to have formal mentors, with only 24% of women leaders having had a formal mentor compared to 30% of men, and this gap widens at the senior level.

We hope to see you online for this session!
