UWPIAA Scholarships & Golden Passport

UWPIAA Legacy Scholarship

The Up with People International Alumni Association (UWPIAA) Legacy Scholarship was established to encourage legacy relatives of UWPIAA alumni to participate in Up with People (UWP), a global education organization which aims to bring the world together through service and music. Legacy scholarships are funded exclusively by the UWPIAA.

Awards Offered

The number of awards offered is limited based on funds raised in prior year alumni campaigns and are selected by the Legacy Scholarship Committee. In the event that no qualified relative applies for the scholarship for a given semester, funds will be returned to the UWPIAA general operating fund OR funds will remain in the Legacy Scholarship account for future applicants.

Eligibility & Selection

  • Legacy applicants included child, step-child, grandchild, or step-grandchild, sibling, niece or nephew of an UWP alumnus/a – defined as an individual who completed cast member staging or served as a staff member of Up with People, WorldSmart, Sing Out, or PACE magazine.
  • Scholarship applicants must have applied for admission to Up with People and been accepted as a first-semester participant.
  • Applicants must submit the following to be considered for the scholarship award:

  • UWPIAA Scholarship committee members represent many eras and regions across the globe and will determine recipients based on submissions, and possible financial need. • Demonstrated leadership potential as presented in the applicant’s personal statement/application.
  • Community Service/Extra-curricular activities
  • Financial need may be requested from UWP Admissions if multiple awards are under review in a given semester.
  • Applicants will be notified by email as soon as an award is granted.
