Alumni-planned European Alumni Meeting

Eirik Sandnes ('88E) and Hilde Sandnes ('91C)
April 6, 2023

Dear alumni,

We are more than excited to invite new and old UWP friends from all corners of the world to join us in Bergen, Norway for the 2023 (Pre-) EAM! Juhuu – it is a first!

Bergen is a popular tourist destination, mainly because of its location between the North Sea, with its fjords and mountains. These surroundings offer breathtaking views and great experiences in nature close to the city centre. However, you don`t have to bring your hiking gear to enjoy Bergen. The UNESCO World Heritage city also has a rich history, strong traditions and a vibrant culture and music life. More info at www.visitbergen.com. We can hardly wait to welcome you all here!

Theme: “BERGEN?”
The first thing you see when exiting the Bergen Airport are big letters spelling “BERGEN?” Visitors or people coming home are encouraged to reflect on their expectations, feelings, knowledge, etc. towards the city or area. For the EAM Bergen will first and foremost represent another chance to see, hug, laugh, party and have good talks with old and new Up with People friends. We will naturally also add activities that will give you a feel of Bergen and surroundings. Let us know if you have specific expectations, things you want to see or do or questions you want answered, and we will see what we can include in the Pre-EAM or EAM program.

  • Pre- EAM activities will be May 17th– May 19th Recommended arrival day is the 16th.
  • EAM – 19th – 21st of May.

With the help of UWP friends and other volunteers we will try our best to set a good frame for the Pre-EAM and EAM in Bergen in 2023. We know that all participants will bring the smiles and the energy to make the event yet a memorable one for all of us. We are all looking forward to having you all as our very special guests in our hometown Bergen! All the information you need is found on our website and by joining the EAM Facebook group.
